Living With Diabetic
Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how your body converts food into energy. It occurs when your blood sugar (glucose) levels are consistently high, often due to insufficient insulin production or ineffective use of insulin by the body. Managing diabetes involves careful monitoring of blood sugar levels, maintaining a balanced diet, regular exercise, and, in some cases, medication or insulin therapy. Proper management is crucial to prevent complications such as heart disease, kidney damage, and nerve problems.
LWD's MESSAGE
This is not a support group, and I do not hold any medical certificates. Despite my efforts to obtain certification in diabetic treatment, the universities I contacted informed me that I did not meet the entry requirements for their programs. However, I have lived with type 1 diabetes for 50 years, experiencing only minor complications. During this time, I have learned a great deal about managing this condition through real-world experience. I also hold a master’s degree in International Education from a reputable university. Despite my academic background, I recognize that practical experience often speaks louder than formal qualifications. My extensive personal experience with diabetes has provided me with a deep understanding of the condition that cannot be fully captured through academic study alone.
I envision this as a discussion platform where we can live, learn, and grow wiserand stronger through sharing our experiences. This platform is intended to be a ground for mutual learning and support, where each person can contribute their unique insights and knowledge. By sharing our personal stories, tips, and strategies for managing diabetes, we can help each other navigate the challenges we face daily. I hope you will join me in this endeavor so we can educate the world about living with diabetes.
